Bülent Ergin Güngör - founder / M.arch

Born in 1955 in Tekidağ, he graduated from Brussels American College in 1974. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Black Sea Technical University where he later served as an instructor. While continuing his graduate studies in Middle East Technical University, he participated in several architectural projects. He started his first company, Renova Architecture in 1986 and later in 1996 he established BG Architects where he still continues his architectural practice. With the Bucharest office formed in 2005, he widened his field of service to an international scale.

Along with various office, accommodation and residence projects, he is long and well-experienced in educational building. One of the most significant examples of this is the Ozyegin University Cekmekoy Campus project which he has been leading for 10 years, with his long time design partner Roger Klein.

Since the beginning of his career, Bülent Güngör has participated in the restoration and renovation projects of several historical buildings such as Dolmabahce Palace, Beylerbeyi Palace and Sumela Monastery. He is now sharing his knowledge with organizations like the Department of National Palaces and CEKUL of which he is also a founding member, as a consultant. He is conducting his work with BG Architects in İstanbul, Bodrum, Bucharest and Princeton offices.

As Design Principal at ARK, Roger collaborates with his colleagues on the design of educational, commercial and master plan projects within the Princeton and Istanbul studios.His portfolio includes an impressive collection of commercial and higher education projects including Ozyegin University in Istanbul, Haumao Center in Beijing, the 88 story Eurasia Tower in Moscow, Furman Hall at New York University’s School of Law, and the award-winning Harlem Park tower in NYC.

Previously an Associate Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox and Design Principal at Swanke Hayden Connell Architects and RMJM, Roger was profiled as one of Building Design + Construction’s “40 Under 40” influential individuals.
